Post-Tribune, Northwest Indiana, Tues, Feb 1, 2005 - DOVIE B. McGEE Age 98, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Miller's Merry Manor in Hobart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wash and Nellie Martin, her son, Richard W. McGee, sisters, Susie, Essie, Grace, Jewell, Aline and Gladys; brothers, Ike, Howard, Leonard, Joseph, Archie, Carlton and Frank.

Dovie is survived by her devoted sons, Joseph M. McGee of Lake Station, Gene (Wanda) Martin of El Paso, TX; loving daughters, Linda (Herbert) Green of Portage, Nellie (James) Stone of Franklin, IN; and grandchildren, Phillip (Ines) Stone of Hialeah, FL, James Stone, Jr. of Kankakee, IL, Keith (Amy) Martin of Austin, TX, Todd (Stacey) Martin of Moore, OK, Curtis (Andrea) Martin of San Antonio, TX, April (Everett) Goings of Warren, IN, Shawn (Jennifer) Green of Roselle, IL and Heather Green of Portage; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; 1 brother, Wash (Peggy) Martin of Frisco, NC; 1 sister, Mildred (Herschel) Creed of Paducah, KY; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Dovie was a Gold Star Mother and a life member of American Legion Post #260 Auxiliary and member of Portage Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. from Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage with Pastor Rick Oliver, officiating. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Visitation Wednesday, 2-7 p.m at Rees Funeral Home, Portage.
