Mrs. Maggie M. Blaske, 71, whose home was at 1104 Hagelgans Rd., in Fawn River Township, died unexpectedly at about 7 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 1970. She was stricken in her home and was taken by ambulance to Sturgis Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival. She had been in ill health for the past year.

She was born in Bronson, May 14, 1899, a daughter of Lawrence and Frances (Sobczak) Wotta. She married Carl J. Blaske in Bronson May 8, 1917.

The couple had been engaged in farming in the Fawn River Township area for nearly 50 years. Her husband died in the spring on March 26, 1970.

She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Riley (Bernice) Penn of Bronson; three grandchildren; Mrs. Riley (Bernice) Penn of Bronson; Three grandchildren; Mrs. Dolores Fager of burr Oak, Mrs. John (Doris) Abraham of Kalamazoo and Dennis Rayner of Carter Port, Pa., two great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Franklin (Anna) Smoker of Bronson.

Friends are being received at the Foglesong Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Services will be observed at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Angles Catholic Church with the Rev. Alexis Martini Serving as the officiant. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, south of Bronson.
