Carl J. Blaske, 76, died at his residence in Fawn River Township, at 12:15 a.m., Thursday, March 26, 1970 after an illness of several years. His condition became serious over a year ago.

He was born in Bronson, January 31, 1893, a son of Valentine and Josephine (Bystry) Bielawski. He married Maggie M. Wotta on May 8, 1917, in Bronson.

Carl had lived on his farm for the past 52 years and had been employed with the former Sturgis Register Co. for 13 years until he retired in 1959.

He was a member of Holy Angles Catholic Church in Sturgis and the Sacred Heart Society in Bronson.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Riley (Bernice) Penn of Bronson; Three grandchildren; Mrs. Dolores Fager, Sturgis, Mrs. John (Doris) Abraham of Kalamazoo and Dennis Rayner of Bronson; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Peter Blaske of Bronson and Joseph Blaske of Coldwater; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Jarmy of Chicago, Ill and Mrs. Pearl Ogden of Bronson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Foglesong Funeral Home beginning Friday noon. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral Rites will be observed at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. William Limbert, priest of Holy Angels Catholic Church, officiating.

Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery in Bronson.
