Lois was the fourth of six children born to Abijah Cole and Sarah Kent of Harvard, Mass. Her father died when she was three years old. She was married to Solomon Robbins, the son of Ephraim Robbins and Hannah Blanchard. They lived in Westmoreland, New Hampshire where their eleven children were born, but late in life moved to Broome County, New York where they both died and were buried.
