She was born in Joliet and was a member of St. Paul Apostle Parish, The Paulites, the Will County Senior's Slovak Ladies Union, V.F.W. Cantigny Post #367 and the Joliet East Side Ladies Auxiliary.
Eleanor was a volunteer at the Shepherd's Table and Villa Franciscan where she served as a Eucharistic minster. She was a member of the Young at Heart Singles at Carillon where she lived for the past 13 years.
Preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Ted" Meyer (1988); two daughters, Mary Ann (2000), and Claire (2016) Nelson; her parents, George and Juliana Jurina; sisters and brother in law's, Mary (Robert) Lanier, Helen (Cyril) Pavnica; and son in law, Robert (Rose) Corcoran.
