Jo Ann was born in Daingerfield to Lester and Ollie Mae Chapman.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Jo Ann began her nursing career with the late Dr. Rutledge and completed her career at Titus Regional medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth Truitt, brothers Leon and James Allen Chapman, grandchildren Frank Thompson and Greg Stoermer.
