Emperor Bahadur Shah I followed his brothers in death less than three years later. He was buried in a zarih (fenced enclosure) near the dargah (shrine) of the Sufi saint Qutbuddin Bakhtiar Kaki in Merauli, Delhi. Later on the Emperors Shah Alam II and Akbar II, and the Last Crown Prince Mirza Fakhru (Bahadur's grandson, great-grandson and great-great-great grandson, respectively) were buried in the same enclosure.
