Bernice M. Brown, 94, of Schenectady, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, October 2, 2010, at Kings- Way Arms Nursing Center where she had been a resident in Schenectady.

Born on December 22, 1915, in Central Bridge, NY, she was the daughter of the late Earl and May Leamon Richtmyer. Bernice was a lifelong area resident. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, knitting, and traveling with her husband. She was an avid golfer and former member of the Mohawk Golf Club and the Edison Club, and enjoyed spending winters in Florida. She loved to bake, and will be remembered for making her delicious chocolate jumbles. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis C. Brown and daughter-in-law, Susan Bouck Brown. Survivors include her four children, Beverly Warner (Jeremiah) Nead of Loudonville, Roger (Nancy) Brown of Pensacola, FL, Dennis Brown of Mountain Home, ID, and Claudia (Michael) Sims of Edin- burg, NY; her eight loving grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in the Sloansville Cemetery.
