A resident of Marshfield most of his life, Mr. Schnell was born September 6, 1885 , and educated here. He worked for Roddis Corp, now Weyerhauser Co. and also for Shirpke Pop Factory, which he purchased in the early 1930s and operated until 1945. He then sold the business to Hughes and moved to California.
Mr. Schnell married the former Mary Blum in Marshfield. She preceded him in death October 20, 1969.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Mary Seidl, Montebello, California, Mrs. Helen Everitt and Mrs. Dorothy Meyer, both of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Loretta Catt, Milwaukee and Mrs. Joseph (Rose) Rushing, Burbank, California; three sons, Joseph, Chicago, Arthur, Rhinelander, and Melvin, Burbank, California; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Cook, Sheboygan, and Mrs. Mary Sass, Milwaukee, 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two brothers and four sisters.
