Elizabeth was a convict tried at Surrey Quartersessions in Newington in 1840 for stealing 18 yards of printed cotton and sentenced to 7 years transportation, leaving from Downs, Ireland on board the Navarino. It took 107 days. She was assigned to Mr Cahill of Spring Hill. She spent time in the Cascades Female Factory where she had a child, Maria. She married John Burles in 1846 in Hobart Town and she died in the General Hospital in Hobart.
