CRESSMAN, David W. 84 of Scottdale, passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, July 25, 2017, at his residence, while being comforted by his loving wife and son. He was born June 15, 1933, in Bloomingdale, Ontario, Canada, a son of the late Ivan and Alda Snider Cressman. David was a graduate of Goshen College, where he obtained his degree in Elementary Education, he was also enrolled in the Mennonite Seminary (AMBS) for three years. He was appointed Pastor, at Holdeman Mennonite Church, for four years, in Wakarusa, Indiana. David was also marketing manager for the former Scottdale Mennonite Publishing House with 17 years service. David loved music and was a member of the Scottdale Heritage Singers and the Scottdale Choral Society. Dave was a self-employed contractor and real estate owner, where he enjoyed remodeling his properties and was contracted by others throughout the area for their needs. He was known by many as an outstanding softball and hockey player in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Dave also managed the "Yankees" a Little League Team in Scottdale. David is gone from our lives, but will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him His loving wife of 56 years, Phebe A. Epp Cressman, whom he married June 9, 1961. His caring children Michael B. Cressman and wife Cori, of Stow, Ma., Jerold L. Cressman and wife Kristin, of Westford, Ma., and Timothy F. Cressman, of Scottdale. His grandchildren Luke, Ross, Erin, Anna, Rachel, Colin, and Shane Cressman. His brother Maynard Cressman and wife Carol, of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his three sisters Helen Brubacher, Glennys Cressman and Esther Steinman, and his brother Willis Cressman. Dave's family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Additional visitation will be held Saturday, from 9:45 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home, followed by his Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in the Scottdale Mennonite Church with Pastor David Mishler, officiating.
