Mrs. LaVerne Whitehead Arnold, age 85 of Crockett, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2004 in the East Texas Medical Center-Crockett.
Mrs. Arnold was born June 2, 1918 in Houston County and was a lifetime resident of this area. Mrs. Arnold was a bookkeeper for Arnold Cotton Company in Groveton and retired as a nurse for Dr. Carl O. Goolsby. Mrs. Arnold was a member of the First Baptist Church and also served as past chief of the Pythian Sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents Minnie (Magee) and Hoyt Whitehead; Brother Marvin Whitehead; and sisters Maple Whitehead Smith and Reba Whitehead Nash.
