Mr. Hamilton was born Aug. 22, 1942, in Mason County, to Alene Adkins Hamilton of Dover and the late Leonard Hamilton.
He retired after 32 years of service at the Mason County Road Department. Doug, along with his wife, Diana, pastored several churches throughout the years and founded the local Soul Harbor Pentecostal Church. He was currently a member of Fishers of Men Ministries of West Union.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Diana Dickson Hamilton; eight children, Tammy and Allen Harding of Blue Creek, Ohio, Leonard Jr. and Dovey Hamilton of West Union, Penny (Dale Adams) Adkins of Aberdeen, Ohio, Darin and Angel Hamilton of Maysville, and Tiffany Hamilton of Fleming County; four sisters, Juanita Staggs, Carol Bothman, Patricia Wills and Charla McElfresh; one brother, Rocky Hamilton; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
Services for Leonard Hamilton will be 2 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2017, at Brell and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan McRoberts of the First Pentecostal Church of Maysville officiating.
Burial will follow in the Maysville Cemetery.
