James Edward Carder, 90, of Campbellsburg, KY, passed away on July 26, 2017 in Walton, KY. He was born on May 28, 1927 in Campbellsburg, KY, to the late Milford Love and Lora Walker Carder.
He served his country with honor in the United States Marines during World War II. After his service, he came home to Henry County and began a lifelong career in farming where he served on the Trimble County ASC Committee. James was known for his welding skills and was always happy to lend a helping hand to others when equipment broke and needed welding. In his spare time, he enjoyed restoring Ford tractors, spending time with his children and family, fishing. In later years, he loved traveling with his wife to flea markets and hunting antiques.
James leaves to mourn his passing, his children, Ronnie Carder and his wife Kelle Murphy-Carder of Smith Center, KS, Gary Lee Carder of Campbellsburg, KY, Deborah June Carder-Rachel and her husband Phil of Walton, KY; one sister Sue Jones of Campbellsburg, KY; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many loving family and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Betty Jean Hughes Carder; one brother Jack Carder; four sisters Nancy Clifford, Emma Jean Ginn, Dorothy Spence and Mary Frances Coats.
