Noah was the son of Gabriel Huffman & Mary Hardwick and was raised, with his brother, Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Hardwick, in the home of their maternal grandparents, George W. & Mary Hardwick.

He married Lizzie Lee Baker, the daughter of Robert Lee Baker & Nancy Jane Adams Baker, on September 16, 1897 in Garrard County, Kentucky. The couple were the parents of Fannie Jane, Clayton A., George Robert, Blanche Mae and Peachie Lee Hardwick.

Mr. Hardwick earned his living by working as a farmer. He passed away from the effects of tuberculosis, with a duration of three years.
