Interment was in the Steamboat cemetery.


Mrs. Monson passed away at Valley View Manor in Craig, Colorado on Sunday, March 1, 1970, following a long illness. She was 86 years of age at the time of her death.


She was born in Douglas County. Colo, on October 7, 1883.


At the age of 21, she came to Routt County, and on February 6, 1908, she was married to H. Clay Monson in Steamboat Springs. Her husband was a member of a Routt County pioneer family.


They lived in this area during their 62 years of marriage. Mrs. Monson was a housewife.


She was a member of St. Paul's Kpiscepal Church and played the organ there for a number of years.


She was a past president of P.E.O. and a past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. She had belonged to the latter 2 organizations for over 50 years.


Surviving are her husband, H. Clay Monson: one son, four daughters, one brother. 13 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
