YOAKUM - Fred Brewer, 75, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017. He was born January 6, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas to his late father Clyde Brewer and his mother Mildred (Rush) Brewer.

He graduated from high school in Princeton, Arkansas. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1961 and retired after 20 years of service. He started his own air condition business and then went to work as the Director of Physical Plant Facilities for Texas A&M University. He retired the second time in 2004 from A&M. He enjoyed golfing, supporting his grandchildren at their activities and gardening. He supplied fresh produce to the locals and his friends at the Senior Citizens Center. He was known for his love of chocolate and dancing.

Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marie Brooks; brothers, David Lee Brewer and Pat Steele; niece, Shanta Gwen Phillips.

Visitation 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home.

Funeral Service 10 a.m., Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. George Hayhurst officiating. Burial to follow at Salem Cemetery.
