He passed away July 21, 2017 in Marshall.
Alfred Cade Spann was born July 7, 1926 in Gilmer, TX to Tip O. Spann, Sr., and Cleo P. Gurley Spann. He joined the U. S NAVY in November of 1943, and proudly served his country during WWII.
He married Gaynell Robbins on Oct. 24, 2009 in California, was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a Deacon.
He loved mechanical work and helping others, also loved gardening, telling stories of the "old days & times", especially about his time in the Navy.
He proudly continued his love for service to his country by being a Fire Fighter.
He enjoyed traveling with his family, and went to Alaska and Colorado, where they enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Gaynell "Gail" Spann; daughter, Pamela Black & husband, Dale; son, Matt Peacock & wife, LeeAnn; sister-in-law, Sandy Spann; four grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tip, Sr. & Cleo Spann; his first wife of 53 years, Kay Spann; two brothers, Eugene Spann and Tip Spann.
Pallbearers are Tom Swirchack, James Pieper, Don Everett, Terry Gresham, Frank Tomlson, and John Pritchard. Honorary Pallbearers are all the members of Crossroads Baptist Church.
