DAVIS, Albert Kemper III, 58, of Montgomery, AL, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston, TX with his family at his side following a seven-month battle with acute myeloid leukemia. He was born in Montgomery, AL on March 12, 1959, to the late Albert Kemper Davis, Jr. and Evelyn Warren Davis. Kemper graduated from Lee High School and received a B.S. in Business Administration from Auburn University in Montgomery. Kemper had a career in Real Estate with Montgomery Metro. He was a member of the Alabama Area Realtors Association and the Montgomery Area Realtors Association, for which he served on the board and on numerous committees. He was active in Bible Study Fellowship, was a volunteer for the Salvation Army and other organizations, and a member of the AUM Alumni Association. He had a passion for Christ, his family, including their dog Dixie, and real estate. Kemper enjoyed watching all his children's activities, some of which he coached. He also enjoyed playing golf and viewing plays. Kemper was an avid Auburn Fan! His special achievements include being the best dad in the world awarded by his children and he was a lifetime regular blood donor until the onset of cancer. He was married to Kelly Lynn Grigsby on September 30, 1989, at the Church of The Holy Spirit in Montgomery, AL. He is survived by his wife and children, Andrew, Matthew and Lindsey; sisters, Lee Davis of Atlanta, GA and Laura (Glenn) Bazzell of Montgomery, AL; and brother, Kenny Davis of Montgomery, AL. Visitation will be held at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Landmark Church of Christ with Minister Buddy Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nephews Jeremy Bazzell, Jeff Bazzell, Chris Bickerstaff, Jeff Tippets, Ian Grigsby and his sons' childhood neighborhood friends, Brian Head, Jacob Stinson and Sam Pouncey. During his illness Kemper said; "I can't lose - I either get to spend more time with my wonderful family or get to spend time with Jesus." In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood or platelets.
