Lawrence J. Eldridge, 66, who formerly resided at 416 Wisconsin Ave. until moving to 1403 Michigan Ave. Sheboygan, died Saturday at St. Nicholas Hospital following a brief illness.
A native of Chilton, he was born June 14, 1899, a son of the late George and Dora Eldridge. He attended district school in town of Charlestown. On Jan. 30, 1925 he was married to Miss Alice Teuber of New Holstein.
The couple made its home in Fond du Lac until 1932, and then moved to New Holstein prior to coming to Sheboygan in 1952. His wife preceded him in death in 1960. He was employed at Rway Furniture Co. for 18 years before retiring in 1964.
Survivors are two sons, Robert of Sheboygan and Lawrence G., of Rockford, Ill.; four daughters, Miss Crystal Eldridge, Mrs. Roland (Audrey) Beck, both of Sheboygan, Mrs. Martin (June) Beck of Quonset Point, R. I. and Mrs. French (Myrtle) Woods, in Japan; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Ervin of Fond du Lac; one sister, Mrs. Earl Lindsey, of Fond du Lac.
Funeral services were held at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. The Rev. Erich Keller, pastor of Ebenezer Lutheran Church officiated and burial was in Wildwood cemetery.
