David served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army right after graduate school, and worked as a civil engineer for twenty years. With a master’s degree in business administration he earned at U.T.E.P. night school, he began a career as a Morgan Stanley account executive in 1986.
David was a loving husband, father and friend with a keen sense of humor. He was a member of Saint Mark’s United Methodist Church who loved reading, telling jokes, and spending time with family and friends—especially doing outdoor sports.
Preceded in death by parents, Paul and Martha Womack and sister, Jean Elliott. He leaves wife of 51 years, Janet Womack; son, Todd Womack and wife Jessica Roach; son Chris Womack and wife Amy Filbin; and grandsons: Jasper and Rowan Filbin-Womack. Also surviving are his brother, John and Karen Womack; brother, Charles and Anna Womack; sister, Kathy and Scott Lofland; sister, Laurie and Rob Yackley; uncle, Robert Wilbourn; many nieces and nephews and beloved in-laws: David Elliott, Joyce and Will Bryan, and Frances Robertson.
David was interred at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.
