BEWLEY, LONA, age 90, of Russellville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 25th at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. he was born on January 9, 1909 in Pardee, Virginia. She was a charter member and one of the founders of the Russellville Church of God. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph D. Bewley; son, R.C. Lipton and grandson, Scot Westmoreland. Survivors; sons, Rev. R.B. Bewley of Tullahoma, Bob Bewley of Rogersville, Jack Bewley of Russellville, Don Bewley of Whitesburg, J.R. Bewley of Morristown; daughters, Louise Walker of Russellville, Betty Jones and Patsy Johnson of Morristown; 28 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Creech Jr., of LaFollette, TN; sister, Dorothy Benton of KY.; several nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Russellville Church of God with Rev.'s William Gardner and Roger Rigney and Robert Hamilton officiating. Graveside services to follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens with Rev. George Davis officiating. The body will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Mayes Mortuary. Mayes Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
