Nathaniel Bell Obituary

On August 26, 2016 Nathaniel Bell Jr., age 82, passed away peacefully at The Grove at the Lake nursing home in Zion, IL surrounded by loved ones. Nathaniel Bell Jr. was born October 12, 1933 in Shelby, Mississippi. He moved to Illinois in 1963 where he developed a respected reputation in Lake County, Cook County, and Kenosha County as "Bell with the tow truck".

"Bell" enjoyed driving his tow truck, repairing cars, hunting, fishing, dancing, watching baseball and spending time with family. For the love of baseball he would watch the White Sox, but the Cubs were his favorite team.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Mary Bell; 1 brother Sylvester (Ann) Bell; mother-in-law Thelma (Henry) McMath; 11 daughters Hattie (James) Walker, Helen (Stacy) Colnaghi, Tracy (Michael) Cook, Deloris (David) Houston, Thelma Adams, Tina (Dwayne) Dindyal, Cynthia Curtis, Jackie Bell, Audrey Bell, Shirley Bell, and Ruthie Bell; 7 sons Marshall (Patricia) Bell, Sam (Betty) Bell, Percy Curtis, Edward (Carleen) Curtis, Eddie (Earleen) Bell, Nathaniel (Penny) Bell III., and Ricky Curtis; 53 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

Nathaniel Bell Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel Bell Sr. and Hattie Bell, one daughter Rosie (Ernest) Randolph; two sisters Ruby McCloud and Bessie Little; a special grandmother Charlotte Curtis; two grandchildren Edward Curtis Jr., Percy Curtis Jr. and one great-grandchild Anazaya Finley.

Services will take place on Saturday September 3, 2016 at Jesus Name Apostolic Church, 208 Lake Street, Waukegan, IL with the visitation at 10am and funeral services beginning at 11:00am. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Westgate Funerals, Waukegan, IL.
