Mr. Johnson was born in Johnston County on April 27, 1940 to the late Tommie Valton and Rabie McLamb Johnson. He was a 1958 graduate of Benson High School and was a licensed physical therapist with Dorothea Dix Hospital. Mr. Johnson was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church where he was a faithful member of the choir.
Surviving are Ralph Compton of Hillsborough, Katie J. Morgan of Benson, Nancy J. (Sherwood) Keith of Benson, Cherry J. (Jack) Littleton of Benson, Tommy R. "Bud" Johnson of Dunn; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 12:30pm to 1:30pm Thursday prior to the service.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund, Cedar Grove, NC 27231.
