Husband of Sarah Wheeler. Son of John Spofford and Elizabeth Scott. Father of Captain John Spofford, Mary Spofford, David Spofford, Jonathan Spofford, Martha Spofford, Ebenezer Spofford, Nathaniel Spofford and Sarah Spofford.

The Rowley vital record gives his birth as 24 10mo 1648. Back then, the 10th month was December, so the birth date should read 10 Dec 1648.

The death year is a crap shoot. The Rowley vital record unambiguously gives his death date as 22 April 1696, and Ancestry.com has an administration record that gives the date as 6 July 1696, but without an original record image. On the other hand, the gravestone clearly gives the death date as 22 April 1697, and Ancestry.com has an image of a probate cover sheet (no contents) giving the date as 7 Jun 1697. So, flip a coin as to which death year to pick; until the original probate documents become available, I see no basis for choosing one over the other.
