Carolyn "Loby" Loretta Kelly Hinson
Tears of sadness and tears of joy fall from many eyes at the passing of Carolyn Loretta Hinson, better known to her family as "Loby." God provided perfect peace on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at her home in Elgin after a seven-month battle with cancer. God ushered her into heaven and said, "Come my child, a place is waiting for you to give you peace and rest." Loby was one of eight children of Abie and Evelyn Kelly. She was predeceased by two brothers, Spencer Kelly and Abie Kelly, Jr. The footprint she leaves behind is phenomenal in the number of lives she touched. Everybody loved her that met her. Family was a priority for her and she was always there. She was employed by Palmetto Health and known there as "Carolyn." She cherished the many friends she made during her 30 plus years working there and they became part of her family. She proudly proclaimed another extended family and that was her Spears Creek Baptist Church family of Elgin. She loved Rev. Sweet and her church family.
