ALEXANDRA "ALICE" LUKASZEWSKI DYER, IN Alexandra "Alice" Lukaszewski (nee Soltys), age 84, of Dyer, passed peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, April 11, 2009. She is survived by her loving daughters: Marsha (Robert) Rusbasan, Dorothy Niblick and Margaret (Robert) Newman. She will be missed by her grandchildren: Robert (Bethany) Rusbasan, Jr., Maureen McCoy, Laura Rusbasan, Charles Niblick, Patrick (Nao) Newman, Catherine Newman, Marielle Newman, Therese Newman and Rachel Newman. Alice leaves behind her, adored great grandchildren: Isabella McCoy, Emily Alexandra McCoy, Aleksandra Rusbasan and Sho Newman; also her very special little girl "Shirley Cat". Alice is also survived by her sister, Lottie Kobza; brother, Stanley Soltys; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Lukaszewski; daughter, Mary Lukaszewski; sister, Genevieve Lukowski; and brothers: Joseph and John Soltys. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church of Dyer. At rest, Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. at the Lincoln-Ridge Funeral Home, 7607 W. Lincoln Highway (Rt. 30 east of Cline Ave.), Schererville, IN. Alice was a member of St. Maria Goretti parish where she sang with the Requiem Choir, was a member of S.P.A.R.C.'s, AARP and Knights of Columbus Wives. She was a volunteer at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital. Alice loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed all the birds that came to her feeder, watching her garden bloom and playing with her kitty. She was a kind and generous person and hard worker. Alice was loved by so many and will be missed more than words can say. She was a beautiful woman inside and out.
