Theodore enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on June 23, 1917 & was honorably discharged on Aug. 13, 1919, serving as PFC in the 17th Co., 5th Regiment & Co. A, 1st Battalion, 5t Reg., 4th Brigade, 2nd Marine Div. during World War I. Theodore received the Purple Heart for his bravery & valor.
