Private Alfred Hardin, enlisted on October 14, 1861 into Company F, 1st Kentucky Cavalry in Union, Kentucky. He was later transferred to the 2nd KY Cavalry.
Alfred's father, whose grave was marked, enlisted in the Union army at the age of 57, but died of typhoid fever only three months later.
On Saturday, May 14, 2005, members of the John Hunt Morgan Camp, led by Central Brigade Commander Curt Carter, gathered at the Rockbridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Willisburg, Kentucky, to conduct a memorial service for Pvt. Alfred Hardin of Company F, 1st Kentucky Cavalry, CSA.
