Henry Savage, son of Samuel Phillips Savage and his wife, Sarah (Tyler) Savage was baptized in Boston 17 December 1758.

In April 1775 he entered the Continental Army, and on 1 January 1777 he became a 2nd Lieutenant of the 3d Massachusetts Regiment under Col. John Greaton. On 1 January 1779 he became a 1st Lieutennt and served as an Aide-de-camp to General John Nixon from 1 January to 11 September 1780; and as a Regimental Adjutant from 11 November 1777 to June 1783. Upon his return to Weston, he received a commission as brevet-captain.

He never married. He died 28 March 1784 in Weston, Middlesex, Massachusetts.
