Revolutionary War Veteran. He hailed from Norwich, Connecticut and moved west to Ohio after serving the United States as a soldier during the Revolutionary War. He died in 1834 from the effects of old age when he was 71 years old. He was initially buried at the Methodist-Protestant Cemetery on Reading Road and was later removed to Spring Grove Cemetery on May 3, 1889.
