BLUE SPRINGS - Opal Littlejohn Durante, 80, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at the Sunshine Inn in Myrtle. She was born Jan. 19, 1927, in Union County to the late John Littlejohn and Dola Dunlap Littlejohn. She lived in Blue Springs before moving to Sunshine Inn. She was a cosmetologist and the owner of beauty shops in New Albany, Sherman and Ripley. She later worked at Day-Brite. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Funeral Service Chapel in New Albany. Burial will be in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Bill Lewis (Bonnie) of Cordova, Tenn.; one sister, Katie Hamblin (Fred) of Memphis; granddaughter, Wendy Thompson (Mark) of Cordova; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Thompson; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Richard Durante; and two brothers, Roy and John Hazel Littlejohn.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
