Donald Lee "Don" Hatch
1926 - 2017

Early Life: Don was born May 6, 1926, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Paxman and Lettie Elizabeth Ossmen Hatch. He grew up in Provo, Utah, during the Great Depression, which taught him the value of hard work and frugality. It was his love of the gospel that carried him through the hardest times of his life, which included losing his father at young age; after which, he began to help provide for his family. At age 17, while still in high school, he joined the United States Navy during World War II fighting in the Pacific as a Gunners Mate.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: As a devoted lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he had a deep testimony which he loved to share with all he could. On August 10, 1949, he married the love of his life, Lois Nelson, in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple. Together they raised ten children in the house he built in Orem where they shared 67 happy years together. He worked in construction and loved building houses. He continued to work with wood as a hobby right to the end. Among his many years of church service, it was serving as Scoutmaster that brought him great happiness and he was able to share his love of camping, fishing, hiking and all things outdoors. Don loved everyone and was much loved in return. He had the most tender, loving heart and was a wonderful brother, dad, grandpa and husband. Sweet Dad, Donald Lee Hatch, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2017, in his home.
Survived By: Seven of his ten children: Dee Ann Keller, JP Hatch, Kaylin Conant, Karla (Clyde) Robins, Jace Hatch, Rachel (Terry) Degmetich and Erin Leishman; his sister, Mary; his 26 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: Three children: Laren Hatch, Deven Hatch, Lloyd Jay Hatch; and his parents.
