Lloyd Schroeder of Wheeler, age 88, born March 16, 1920 to Fred and Sallie Mae (Williams) Schroeder passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2008. On June 22, 1941 he married Ila Kjoss who precedes him in death. On June 18, 1966 he married Helen Ramsey, also preceding him in death. Lloyd's brother, Lyle Schroeder, his step-granddaughter, Karen Meyer and stepson-in-law, James Meyer also preceded him in death. Surviving are a son, Douglas (Bonnie) Schroeder of Angola and daughter, Pamela Schroeder of Valparaiso, stepdaughters, Donna Meyer of Tucson and Avonne (Larry) Tomerlin of Valparaiso. Grandchildren are, Kelly, Mike, Jenny, Kathy and step-grandchildren, Rita, James, Dennis, Sylvia, Carol, Joyce, James, Steven and Jason, also several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Lloyd was a member of the Wheeler Methodist Church, the V. F. W. and was a WWII Navy Veteran. He retired as postmaster of Wheeler post office and was also a self-employed barber. Lloyd was an avid bowler and enjoyed golf. He will be fondly remembered. Services for Lloyd will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 3 at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe, Valparaiso, IN, with Rev. David Banning from the Wheeler Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the V. N. A. Hospice Center or the Wheeler United Methodist Church.
