Mrs. Hunt was bom July 25, 1928 in Clay County, the daughter of Ulysses and Daisy (Bowen) Hagen. She married Ivan Hunt. She was a homemaker and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Olney.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Don Van Matre of Olney;two sisters, Mildred Brown of Charleston, and Cubalene Krutsinger of Flora; grandchildren, Rick Van Matre and wife Joyce of St. Louis, Mo., Dianne Boyer and husband Michael, Cindy French, Trudy Atkison and Rodney Brainard, all of Texas; great-grandchildren, Juliana Van Matre, Brittany, Jacob, Alyson and Madison Boyer, Jacquelyn, Christopher, Alexander and Benjamin French, Nicholas Brainard, and Blake and Garrett Atkison.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, granddaughter, Michelle "Shelly" Van Matre, one son, Jerry Brainard, one grandson, Christopher Brainard, five brothers, Fleeman, Kermit, Sam, Jay and Clifford Hagen, and one sister, Ethel Hickman.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney, with Pastor Chris Jennette officiating. Burial was in Oskaloosa Cemetery in rural Clay County. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Olney.
