Early Life: Reta was born on May 14, 1931, in Springville, Utah, the second of three children and only daughter of Thomas Vernon and Hucy Elaine Cartee Reynolds. As a child, she lived in Utah, Colorado and Oklahoma, attending 12 schools in 12 years. She graduated from Provo High School, class of 1949.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Next she enrolled at Brigham Young University, while living with her Aunt Hannah Oldroyd and widowed Grandfather Mark A. Reynolds. During this time, she caught the eye of a young, handsome, recently returned soldier named Kelly Bert Hall from Washington City, Utah. By Halloween they were dating, engaged by her birthday, and married on July 27, 1950, in the Manti Utah LDS Temple. Reta and Kelly welcomed four darling daughters and finally, a son, to their family while living in Provo, Delaware, New York, and back to American Fork, Utah. Kelly built their family a five bedroom native stone rambler home where they lived for 40 years while raising their family. Reta taught school in Alpine School District for 26 years and introduced hundreds of children to the 4 Rs: Reading, wRiting, aRithmetic and the aRts. She produced beautiful watercolor paintings to grace the walls of many homes and buildings. Reta served many years as chorister and visiting teacher in LDS Wards in American Fork, St. George and Orem. Being civic minded, she served as member/officer in Artist Section of Provo Women’s Council, docent at BYU and St.George Art Museum, 4H leader, Nu Chapter ADK educator’s sorority, Washington City Artists’ gallery and American Fork Lion’s Club. After her retirement, Reta cared for her husband for 22 years during his extended illnesses. Reta lived in her beloved Orem condo until health problems made it necessary for her to move to Assisted Living at Cove Point in Provo. Reta Camille Reynolds Hall returned to her heavenly home on July 6, 2017.
