BOILING SPRINGS — Mrs. Elsie Anthony Martin, 90, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at Crawley Memorial Hospital.
Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Robert and Maggie Black Anthony. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved to work in her garden and was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. T. Martin; sisters, Myrtle Clary, Pearline Bridges and Mary Sue Hamrick; and brothers, Austin Anthony, Claude Anthony, Sol Anthony, Charlie Anthony, Marvin Anthony and Bill Anthony.
She is survived by a son, Jimmy Martin and wife, Karen, of Boiling Springs; daughters, Johnnie Martin Gold of Columbia, S. C., and Debbie Martin Harris and husband, Junior, of Shelby; a brother, Frank Anthony of Patterson Springs; grandchildren, Chris Gold and wife, Stephanie, Marti Flaherty and husband, Kenneth, Audra Self and husband, Brian, and Jason Martin and wife, Kelly; and great-grandchildren, Parker and Griffin Gold, Heather and Amber Flaherty, Connor Self and John Thomas Martin.
