Amanda McIntire was born in Greenup County, Kentucky about 1817-1820. She was the daughter of John Thomas McIntire and Nancy White. She was married to William Deegans/Diggins Feb 16, 1836 in Greenup Co, KY. He died in 1868. They were the parents of at least 6 known children; Mary Ann, John, Thomas, Henry, Harrison, James Franklin. She was a widow in 1897, living near her sister, Charlotte McIntire Stewart in Walnut Twp, Gallia County, Ohio. Amanda died Sept 15, 1897 of bronchitis and it is not known where she is buried. Her death record states she was 72 yrs but according to census records she was abt. 78.
