Captain David Cupello 58, Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006
He was born October 16, 1947 in Enid, Oklahoma to Albert R. and Irma Radicioni Cupello.
He was a graduate of Michigan State University and served in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam war.
He joined the Indianapolis Police Department on February 12, 1973 and was currently the Commander of the Homicide and Robbery Section.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 86. Captain Cupello was awarded the Indianapolis Police Department Purple Heart and other departmental awards as well as numerous letters of commendation and appreciation from the police department and citizens of Indianapolis.
He is survived by his wife, Sharone J. Cupello; son, David Christopher Cupello; daughter, Kristin Cupello; mother, Irma Cupello and brother, Bert Cupello.
A funeral service will be conducted by IPD Chaplain Philip D. Bacon on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Daniel F. O'Riley Funeral Home, where friends may call on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 from 2 until 8 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
