Robert Don Sunden of Fredericksburg, Texas passed away in his home on Wednesday, July 5th, 2017 at the age of 87 years. He was born June 1st, 1930 in Zillah, Washington, the son of Einar A. Sunden and Mamie Johnson Sunden, served and retired from the U.S. Air Force with approx. 22 years of service, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant, as a Flight Engineer, awarded Korean service medal w/5 Bronze Service Stars, and numerous other air force medals and pins. Worked as a Brakeman for Union Pacific Railroad, married Dina Land on January 8th, 1981 in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ricky & Randy Sunden, brother, Walter Sunden.

Mr. Sunden is survived by his spouse, Dina Land Sunden of Fredericksburg, their children, Lisa Benningfield of Fredericksburg, Russell & Judi Sunden of San Antonio, Patti & Woody Russell of West Richland, Washington, Stephen & Sandi Campbell of Center Point, Sue & John Jackson of Mansfield, Ohio, Sherrie & Michael Maurer of Fredericksburg, fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson, sister in law, Pauline Sunden of Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 10th, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. in the Schaetter Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, with Rev. Pam Traver officiating.

Graveside services and interment with full military honors accorded by the United States Air Force will follow in the Der Stadt Friedhof Cemetery in Fredericksburg.

Pallbearers: Donald Klaerner; David Land; John Benningfield; Denny Fleury; Jermiah Sunden; and Victor Jones

Those who so desire may make memorial contributions in his memory to the Hill Country Memorial Hospice, Hill Country S.P.C.A., or to the charity of their choice.

Visitation for Robert Sunden will be held on Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6:00 P.M. and on Monday morning from 7 to 10:00 A.M. in the Schaetter Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.
