Paul Highberg Sr, 91, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2017 surrounded by his family. Paul was born August 8, 1925 in Palacios, TX to the late Nels P. and O'Linda LeCompte Highberg.

He was the last surviving sibling of 11 children. Paul was part of the greatest generation, proudly serving in The United States Navy during WWII. He also enjoyed wood working, collecting coins, and spending time with his family. His legacy of love and his Christianity will live forever in his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Frances Lucille Highberg; parents; brothers, Adolf, John, Haywood, Jim, Nels Jr. Highberg and sisters, Annie Baltar, Mary Stuckey, Hulda McCarry, Hannah Jackson and Nellie Tripp.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 2-3 PM at Rosewood Funeral Chapels. A funeral service will follow at 3 PM with Rev. Glen Dry officiating.

Burial will immediately follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the Victoria County Veterans Council.
