Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Ryan, Iowa
Survivors include one sister, Lucy Gioimo of Naperville, IL, her nieces and nephews: Suzzanne and Suzzette Gioimo of Naperville, IL, Jeff Gioimo, Greg (Kay) Gioimo, Alana (Jim) Hoeger, Chester (Carlyn) DeFlieger, Cindy (Jesse) Boeckenstedt and Sharon (Ron) Singsank all of Dyersville and many great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vincent and 4 sisters: Armella Huberty, Helen Richman, Anita Sylvanus and Arlene DeFlieger. Many thanks to her “special” caregivers of 10 years, Theresa Oberreuter, Lavon Williams, Deann Supple, Pat Cook, Paula Wilgenbush and Lois McNamara. Without your compassionate care and love she could have never stayed at home for so long.
Nellie was born on June 22, 1912 in New Vienna, Iowa, the daughter of Clem and Frances (Freking) Luensmann. She married Vincent E. Drummy on May 23, 1939 at St. Peter & Paul Church in Peosta, Iowa. Together they farmed in the Ryan area until they moved to town in 1968. Nellie belonged to many clubs some of which were the Neighborly Social Club, Friendly Club and ACCW. She was a very active and fun loving person. Nellie enjoyed many shopping trips and was always ready to go when anyone asked. Her door was always open for her friends and the coffee pot was always on to enjoy a story or two.
