Eileen Moore, 72, of Altoona, formerly of Marshalltown, passed away in the presence of her loving family on the evening of Tuesday, July 4th, 2017 at the Mercy Hospice in Johnston.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 8th, at the St’s. John and Paul Catholic Church in Altoona. She will be laid to rest in the Altoona Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one-hour prior to the services.

Born Eileen Daters on November 2nd, 1944, in Marshalltown, she was the only child born to Elmer and Edna (Sassen) Daters. Eileen attended the St. Joseph Parochial School in Haverhill and later graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Marshalltown in 1962.

On January 7th, 1967, she was united in marriage to Roger Moore at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Haverhill. They made their home in Marshalltown all of their married lives until moving to Altoona in 2009 to be near family. Eileen was employed most recently at KFJB and formerly at Commercial Bank at the local ASCS office.
         
A good day was attending an ISU basketball or football game with tailgating!  She and Roger were longtime members of the Cyclone Club and frequented many games over the years. She treasured her time with her family and enjoyed  Wednesday lunch group, sewing for her church circle, attending the Life After 50 club with her husband and was devoted to her faith.

She was most recently a member of the St John and St Paul Catholic Church and formerly a member of St. Mary’s and later St. Henry’s in Marshalltown.

Left to cherish her memory are Roger, her loving husband of 50 years, her daughter Karen (Richard) Boriskey of Cumming, IA, son Tony (Michelle) Moore of Oak Park, IL; and grandchildren- Nick Boriskey, Tyler Moore and Courtney Moore.

In death, Eileen rejoined her parents Elmer and Edna.
