Doris Jean Alley, 86, of Burleson, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017. Services: 2pm Friday, July 7 at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: Thursday 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.


Doris Jean Arnold was born August 16, 1930 in Fort Worth, Texas, one of two daughters born to Roy Arnold and Mamie Louise Atkins Arnold. She married Jackson Lee “Jack” Alley December 31, 1949 in Fort Worth where they made their first home. Doris was employed at St Joseph Hospital as a switchboard operator from 1970 until retirement in 1988. She joined Retta Baptist Church in Rendon in 1990 and was a member for 27 years.


Mrs. Alley was preceded in death by both parents and by her sister, Katherine Arnold.


Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Jack Alley, daughters: Judy Irwin and her husband Rickie and Kathy Haynes and her husband Douglas, grandchildren: Angela Goodhand, Amy McBride, Chad Irwin, Cody Irwin, Chris Haynes, and Melinda Shipman, and seven great-grandchildren.
