Obituary of Jessie Calhoun Ross from the Lincoln Ledger. She died April 10, 1917.
Mrs. Jessie Calhoun Ross, aged about 25 years, died at the family residence in Star City Tuesday night at 11 o'clock.
Mrs. Ross contracted measles which brought on pneumonia which resulted in her death. All that loving relatives and kind friends and the skill of physicians could do failed to stay the hand of the fell destroyer, Death.
Mrs. Ross was a native of Lincoln county, born near Relf's Bluff and there grew to womanhood. She was married to John Ross, who, with an 18-months-old daughter, survives her.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and a devoted follower of the Master, a kind neighbor and a stanch friend.
The remains were conveyed Wednesday morning to Mt. Zion Church near her old home, where funeral services were had and interment made, the Rev. Mr. Holt, the officiating minister.
