Chris Boyd passed away June 1, 2017. She was born July 12, 1929, in Hobart, OK to William and Sarah (Waters) Allred. Chris was a dedicated homemaker, a wife, mother and cherished "Grandma Chris." She was a Master Gardener and member of the Oklahoma City Chrysanthemum Society known for her front yard that looked like a park. She also maintained a large vegetable garden. Her cheesecake squares were a favorite of family, friends and neighbors who enjoyed her great cooking. She was a den mother for her sons, Scott and Roger, as well as several other young boys in Pack 117. Chris will be remembered for her loving spirit; her love of her church, being a longtime member of Putman City Baptist; her love of animals; and especially, her nurturing love for her family. Chris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, in 1989; and is survived by her two sons, Scott Boyd & his wife Mary and Roger Boyd & his wife Sabine; her grandchildren, Jackson and Annika; as well as a host of extended family and friends. Services to celebrate Chris will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel with a reception to follow. Chris will be laid to rest next to Jack at Rose Cemetery in Hobart at a small graveside service at 3 p.m.
