Denison W. Schweppe died peacefully in Viera, Florida on October 18, 2004, with his family by his side.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Eleanore; a son, Denison Jr., of Concord, Massachusetts; and a daughter, Eleanore Baxendale, and her husband, Richard of Seattle, Washington.

Mr. Schweppe was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 29, 1917, to Emily Wilt and William Haskell Schweppe and grew up in New Canaan, Connecticut.

He graduated from Harvard College with a degree in engineering and holds an MBA degree from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

During much of his career he was a management consultant in the fields of manufacturing and finance, most recently as a Vice President for Case & Company of New York City and as Chief Executive Officer of Management Initiatives in Connecticut.

In World War II he served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. An avid sailor, tennis and bridge player, who enjoyed restoring antique houses in Maine, Long Island, and Connecticut, Mr. Schweppe moved from Lyme, Connecticut to Indian River Colony Club in Viera in 2000.

A service celebrating his long and active life will be held at Indian River Colony Club Hall on Friday, October 22 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 8060 Spyglass Road, Viera, FL 32940.

Arrangements entrusted to East Coast Cremation, Rockledge, 632-1350.
