92, he was a son of the late Charles and Annie (Baxter) Jackson. He was a plastering contractor and in 1941 founded L.R. Jackson Limited in Halifax. He was a 32nd degree mason; past master of Acadia Lodge, Halifax and had received his 50-year jewel. He was a life member of the Mayflower Curling Club; past president of the Armdale Kiwanis Club and member of Bethany United Church, where he had been a choir member for over 40 years. He is survived by two daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Robert Jewett), Mrs. Judy A. Butt, both of Halifax; son, Eugene, Lorneville; sister, Gertrude, Quincy, Mass.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Hilda Hawes; four sisters, Elsie, Ila, Isabel, Dorothy; two brothers, Roy, Russell.
