WIFE OF SORENSEN, LUVERN MERLIN
RD3 US NAVY

Diane Jeanine Jepsen – Sorensen, was met at the gates to Heaven by her Grandson Jason Sorensen to see her Lord and Savior on June 14, 2017.
Born May 30, 1941 in Vermillion South Dakota to proud parents LaVern Hans Jepsen and Darlene Lorraine Larson-Jepsen. Wife and best friend of 56 years, LuVern Sorensen. Survived by her mother, Darlene Jepsen and her sisters, Joan, Jeanette, and Cheryl. Numerous nieces and nephews that were all important to her.
She is preceded in death by: Father LaVern Jepsen, Grandfather Einer Jepsen, Grandmother Hilda Hansen-Jepsen, Uncles Alva and Harvey Jepsen, Verlin and Stanly Larson, and Aunt Matilda Jepsen-Iverson.
Mother to Rebecca and Son in Love Odie Atchison, Roberta and Son in Love Gabriel Chillous, Terry and Daughter in Love Misty Sorensen, and Rhoda Sorensen and Son in Love Sean Oliviero.
Grandmother to Matthew, Jessica, Tyler, Adam, Tommy, Jason, Tasheon, Jonathan, Evan, and Gavin. Great Grandmother, and yes, she is Great, to Jayden, Domani'k, AJ, Jayla, Victor, Juelz, Charlotte, Jeramy, Yolanda, Jasper, Jypsy, Tanner, Jayden, Serenity, Jayla, Callie, Bryson, Hayden, Siera, Courtney, Catrina, Caitlyn, and Grandma Diane to Jasmyne.
Diane grew up and still called South Dakota home. But ventured to California to marry the love of her life. Missouri for Baptist Bible College and to start a family, and even Japan to be a missionary with her husband. She loved when they settled in Lancaster, CA. Worked as a supervisor for many years at the hospital and then achieved her dream of owning her very own business Hair Country. We were so proud of her and she was so proud to have accomplished her dreams alongside her husband.
She enjoyed pictures, pictures, and more pictures. Our house has so many memories through photographs, handwritten notes, genealogy, and journals. She loved looking at photos and scrapbooking and making pages for others. Enjoyed making cards and has kept every card she has ever received. She also sewed in her spare time, crocheting, and quilting.
She loved the Lord and her church family and they truly are family. Being a Missionary and Sunday School Teacher, leading others to God, and being a Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother were her greatest blessings.
Thru the years, lifelong friendships have been made. Fifty-Seven year friendships are not often heard of but it is true with her friendship and constant support Bobbie Hatch Blair. Her other Best Friend and "coordinator" Pat, and to many other tales of wonderful supportive and loving friends over the years. Everyone could look to Diane as a shining example of what a friend could be.
Everyone she met was considered family and would do anything for anyone. Our friends became her other kids and she truly enjoyed having everyone in her life. Even the doggies that she loved so much Sattchan, Lil Bit, Tink, Scooter, and grand dog Nibbler. We are all missing her very much. We also know we will see her again. She is with The Lord. Psalm 23.
