Claudie 'JoBoy,' 'Jo,' 'CJ' Bennett, 86, of Royse City, Texas, passed away June 29, 2017. He was born February 23, 1931 to Nora Bennett. Claudie proudly served his country in the US Army. He met the love of his life in 1953 and they were happily married for 64 years. Claudie worked for TXI as a truck driver and was a member of Ridin’ High Cowboy Church. Although he was happiest at home, Claudie loved to travel to the Lake O’ the Pines and Colorado. Claudie was survived by his wife, Barbara Bennett; daughters, Kathy Bennett, Barbara Stewart and Robin Colson; brother, John 'Tim' Bennett; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Thurman Bennett; sister, Tatty Sue Hancock; and grandson, Timothy 'Bubba' Colson Jr. Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 3, 2017, at Ridin' High Cowboy Church, Union Valley, Texas, followed by interment at Royse City Cemetery. Arrangements were through Rest Haven Funeral Home – Royse City Chapel, Texas.
